Karen D. Walker is President/CEO of NLA International. As a Registered Professional Nurse with over 30 years of experience in hospital administration, she specializes in the operations of Cardiovascular Services for inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory settings and is an expert in programmatic service line strategy and growth for any specialty. Karen has traveled the United States providing services in academic medical centers, teaching and community settings. She has attended several American College of Cardiology legislative conferences and spent time on Capitol Hill advocating for healthcare policies from the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) to research and innovation in Cardiology. Karen received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Tuskegee Institute, (Tuskegee, AL) her Masters in Nursing Administration from North Park University (Chicago, IL). She is past president of Sigma Theta Tau, Kappa Nu chapter.
Karen is a member of the American Nurses Association, American College of Cardiology, American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Healthcare Quality.

She has mastered the operations of surgical services in a variety of settings including but not limited to free standing ambulatory centers,
Cecilia Sheikh, consultant for NLA International. Cecilia is a Registered Professional Nurse with extensive experience in health care administration and the comprehensive suite of surgical services. She has mastered the operations of surgical services in a variety of settings including but not limited to free standing ambulatory centers, acute care adult and acute care pediatric hospitals. Cecilia has worked in an array of healthcare organizations from Level 1 Trauma Centers to Level 3 Trauma Centers. With over 20 years of experience in hospital administration, she is considered an expert in process improvement and has received her Six Sigma Lean Green Belt certification. Cecilia received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) and her Masters in Nursing Executive Administration from Chamberlain College of Nursing (Chicago, IL). Cecilia is a member of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses, Association of Occupational Health Professionals and the American Association of Healthcare Consultants. Cecilia has received numerous awards throughout her years of healthcare experience.
